Number of Presentations Allowed: Each presenter is allowed to give one oral paper and one poster. A person can be listed as an author on multiple titles but can only present a maximum of one oral paper and one poster. There are only two exceptions to this rule: 1) When a person has been invited to participate in two symposia, that person can present two oral papers but no posters, or 2) A person can give a DEIB-related presentation in a DEIB-focused session in addition to any oral presentation and/or poster scheduled in other sessions in the scientific program. That is, one person may give two oral presentations or two posters if one is DEIB and one is not.
Lightning Talks: These are five-minute talks, with a 10 slide maximum and no questions from the audience following the talk. Lightning talks provide a good forum for presenting preliminary research or, for example, for putting out a call for data, feedback or collaboration.
Editing or Cancelling Submissions: You can edit your submission and information up to the end of abstract submission, April 10th, 2026. There will be no deadline extensions.
If you need to withdraw an abstract, request a specific date for your presentation, or make other changes, please contact the JMIH program officer, David M. Green (david.m.green@mcgill.ca), making sure to include “JMIH 2026 abstract submission” in the subject line of your email.
Please proof your abstract carefully, as the abstracts will not be corrected.
Capital Letters: Do not use ALL CAPS anywhere in your abstract submission.
Notification: If you fail to receive an email after completing your abstract submission, please check your spam filter or junk folder, as the message may have been spammed. If you have any problems, contact the JMIH Program Officer, David M. Green, at david.m.green@mcgill.ca. Be sure to put “JMIH 2026 abstract submission” in the email subject line.
Decorum: Please avoid the use of language or visual effects that would in any way offend your colleagues. Refrain from lewd or suggestive jokes, photographs or offensive language.
Social Media Warning: If you share the work of others on social media, please be sensitive to the author’s intellectual property and priority for that research. Speakers should also use “no tweet” symbols in their presentations or posters to discourage unwanted sharing.
Responsibility: Presenters are solely responsible for the content of their presentations; JMIH organizers, the JMIH Societies and sponsors of the meeting are not responsible for presentation content.
Registration Required: To present in New Orleans all presenters, including symposium presenters, must register and pay for the meeting. Meeting registration is done through a separate online system accessed from the Registration Information webpage. Presenters must register by May 22nd, 2026.
